Akkeshi – Seimei 2022 Peated (55%)

Akkeshi Seimei 2022 is a lightly peated single malt from the Akkeshi distillery in Hokkaido, bottled at 55%. It is a small-batch release and the seventh in the 24 Solar Term Series, which draws on the 24 solar periods of the old Asian calendar. The distillery stands a few metres from the Pacific, among marshland that supplies its own peat. Seimei means fresh, bright and lively, and marks the awakening after winter. Matured in a range of cask types, the whisky shows caramel fudge, honey, lemon and soy sauce, among other notes.
