Akkeshi – Single Malt 2021

This is a 2021 single malt from Akkeshi distillery in Hokkaido, Japan. It was matured in a variety of casks, giving a spicy, slightly smoky character with a gentle sweetness at the end. The nose combines floral notes, light peat smoke, citrus and ripe stone fruit. On the palate there is soft smoke, honey, spice, fresh sweetness and minerality. The finish is long, balancing smoke and sweetness.
