Akkeshi – Single Malt Shokan (70cl, 55%)

Akkeshi Shokan is a limited-edition Japanese single malt from the Akkeshi Distillery in Hokkaido, bottled at 55% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It is the 21st release in the Twenty-Four Solar Terms Series, and its name means Lesser Cold, the early January period when winter begins to tighten. It carries no age statement and was matured in bourbon, sherry, red wine and Hokkaido Mizunara oak casks. Smoke sits further back than in earlier Akkeshi malts, with more weight given to malt character, fruit-driven complexity and balance.
