Akkeshi – Usui 2021 Limited Release Blended Japanese Whisky (48%)

Akkeshi Usui is a blended Japanese whisky bottled at 48%, and the first blend from the distillery on the island of Hokkaido. It combines Akkeshi-distilled single malts matured for at least three years with imported new spirit matured in Japan and imported grain whiskies. It is the second release in the 24 Solar Term series, inspired by the old Asian calendar that divides the year into 24 solar terms. The profile is peaty. The nose offers citrus, raisins, cocoa and a creamy herbal note. On the palate it recalls curaçao, with yellow lemon, lime and juicy orange. The finish pairs milk chocolate sweetness with white pepper.
