Alness 12 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (Thompson Bros.) (70cl, 50%)

A twelve-year-old blended malt from Thompson Bros., bringing together whisky from Dalmore and Teaninich. The Dalmore part is 13 years old, heavily peated and makes up just under 10% of the blend; the lighter Teaninich part comes from first-fill bourbon casks. It was bottled in February 2026 at 50%, in a 70cl bottle, limited to 800 bottles, non-chill-filtered and in natural colour. The nose has banana and citrus with salty hints, malt, sweet vanilla, honey and coconut, and a very soft breath of peat. The palate is creamy and lively, with vanilla, woody spice, kiwi, green apple and a light medicinal note, and mild peat late on. The finish is long and balanced, with fresh acidity, soft wood and a gentle, peaty warmth.
