Amrut – Indian Single Malt

Amrut Indian Single Malt comes from Bangalore, where the climate shapes a whisky quite different from those made in other countries. Amrut began as a rum and brandy producer in the late 1940s and introduced its Indian single malt in 2004. On the nose, oak is strong, with acetone, a soured note and a sweetness like butterscotch or hard caramel. The palate is light and warm at first, phenolic, with smoked beef jerky, orange and a little honey. The finish is woody and recalls black liquorice.
