An Cnoc 10 Year Old Peated - Bourbon Casks (70cl, 40%)

This is a ten-year-old An Cnoc, the peated expression of the Highland single malt from Knockdhu Distillery, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in ex-bourbon casks and takes its smoke from local Aberdeenshire peat. Knockdhu began distilling in 1894 and still works with copper stills, wooden washbacks and dunnage warehouses. The smoke stays in balance with fruit and sweetness, while vanilla and honey round out the profile. On the nose there is sweet bonfire smoke, manuka honey and fresh-cut grass. The palate opens warm with smoky vanilla, followed by green apple and orange. Gentle smoke, creamy vanilla, apple and orange zest linger in the finish.
