anCnoc 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Knockdhu Distillery, matured for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration and with added colouring.
The distillery began production at Knock in 1894. Water comes from the springs of the Black Hill, whose Gaelic name is Knockdhu, while the brand name anCnoc means 'the hill'.
Honey and lemon lead the nose, with malt and vanilla behind. The palate opens creamy with black tea, then adds caramel, floral sweetness and fresh green apple. The medium finish brings gentle oak and toasted grain, with spice lingering.
