anCnoc 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Knockdhu Distillery, established in 1894 in the village of Knock, Banffshire. It is aged for at least 16 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The brand adopted the name anCnoc to avoid confusion with the neighbouring Knockando distillery. The colour is bright golden straw.
The nose has green apple, lemon zest, heather, vanilla, coconut and honeyed malt. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with orchard fruit, candied citrus peel, sweet cream, vanilla fudge, oak spice and white pepper. The finish is long, smooth and dry, with sweet malt, citrus oil and warm wood spice.
