AnCnoc Peated Sherry Cask (70cl, 43%)

A peated Highland single malt from the Knockdhu distillery, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is kosher. The whisky is first matured in American oak, then finished in hand-picked Spanish sherry butts, which give it a deep amber colour. Smoke and sweetness sit in balance, with the peat kept restrained rather than medicinal. The nose offers tropical fruit, cinnamon, toffee and gentle campfire smoke. On the palate come toffee apple, warming spice and vanilla, and the finish is long, with wood smoke and caramel.
