AnCnoc Peatheart is a Highland single malt from Knockdhu Distillery, which was established in 1894. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and has a pale amber colour.
The whisky is made from barley malted to 40PPM, a measure of the phenol content that peat smoke gives the malt.
The nose opens with a burst of smoke, then ripe pears, apples and limes, with a little tobacco behind. The palate has smoke with leather and stewed apples, alongside chocolate, vanilla and lemon. The finish is warm and lingering, with a floral smokiness.
