Annandale – 2015-2022 7 Year Old North Star Spirits Series 21 (70cl, 54.9%)

A 7-year-old single malt from Annandale, distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2022 by North Star Spirits as Series 21. It matured in an Oloroso sherry butt and is bottled at 54.9% in a 70cl bottle. Annandale makes both peated and unpeated spirit, and this is a heavily peated example, which is unusual for a Lowland malt. The distillery was rebuilt between 2011 and 2014 and began production at the end of 2014. The official notes describe plum Belgian loaf with extra treacle on the nose, cinnamon and pink peppercorn on the palate, and a finish of treacle with pickled ginger.
