Annandale – Man O'Sword Vintage 2014 Ex-Bourbon Cask 106

This is a peated Lowland single malt from Annandale, distilled in 2014 and matured in an ex-bourbon cask, number 106. It comes from one of 85 casks produced at the revived distillery that year, and was bottled when a little over three years old. The year matters at Annandale: it was when the distillery's spirit first qualified as Single Malt Scotch Whisky in more than a century. Man O'Sword is the peated style of the two the distillery makes. Soft peat smoke sits alongside toasted biscuit and Darjeeling tea on the nose. Stone and tropical fruit, vanilla, honey and burnt orange follow, with a long finish of smoke and leather.
