Säntis Malt Edition Alpstein XIX Sherry Cask is a Swiss whisky from the Locher brewery and distillery in Appenzell, bottled at 48% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is the 19th Alpstein edition, a composition of Säntis Malts matured for four years in beer casks and then three more in sherry casks.
The edition runs to 2200 bottles, each labelled by hand.
The beer cask comes through clearly with a spicy edge, alongside sultanas, malt, toffee, roasted nuts and the sweetness of crème brûlée.
