Appenzeller Säntis Malt Himmelberg (50cl, 43%)

Appenzeller Säntis Malt Himmelberg is a Swiss whisky from the Locher brewery in Appenzell, bottled at 43% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is matured in oak beer casks. Making spirits from grain was forbidden in Switzerland until the law changed on 1 July 1999. Locher began producing Säntis Malt that year and released it in 2002. It is made from hardy grain grown in the Swiss mountains and spring water from the Alpstein. The distillery's own bottlings are named after peaks in the Alpstein area.
