This is Ardbeg 'Traigh Bhan', a 19-year-old Islay single malt from Batch 5, in a 70cl bottle at 46.2% ABV.
Ardbeg stands on the south coast of Islay, on the road from Port Ellen to Kildalton, and its name means 'little height'. The distillery takes its water from Loch Arinambeast and Loch Uigeadail, and is known for smoky, peaty and salty whiskies with strong phenolic character.
Glenmorangie PLC took over the distillery in 1997, and Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy bought that company in 2004.
