This is Ardbeg 'Traigh Bhan', a 19-year-old Islay single malt from Batch 7, in a 70cl bottle at 50.3% ABV.
Ardbeg is on the south coast of Islay, on the road from Port Ellen to Kildalton, and its name means 'little height'. Water for the distillery comes from Loch Arinambeast and Loch Uigeadail. The distillery is known for smoky, peaty and salty whiskies with strong phenolic character.
Glenmorangie PLC acquired Ardbeg in 1997, and Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy bought that company in 2004.
