Ardbeg An Oa is an Islay single malt, bottled at 46.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a combination of new, lightly charred oak casks, Pedro Ximenez casks and former bourbon casks.
Each cask type plays its own part. The charred oak supplies the spice, the Pedro Ximenez casks add occasional touches of sweetness, and the bourbon casks form the shared background. The whisky is described as very fruity and also distinctly spicy.
