Ardbeg – Ardcore Limited Edition 2022 (70cl, 46%)

This is the 2022 limited edition of Ardbeg Ardcore, a single malt from the Islay distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered. Ardcore is distilled from deeply roasted black barley malt, which gives the whisky its profile. The colour is a pale, translucent gold. The nose brings Marmite, charred toast, chicory coffee and coffee grounds alongside Ardbeg's herbal notes, bonfire smoke and molasses. On the palate are cocoa powder, dark chocolate, peanut toffee, smoked lime and a hint of soot, with aniseed and malt biscuits. The finish is sweet and lingering, with toffee, soot and smoke.
