Ardbeg – Blaaack Committee 2020 (70cl, 50.7%)

Ardbeg Blaaack is a limited edition Islay single malt, released for the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, which was founded in 2000. It is bottled at 50.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. For the first time at Ardbeg, Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand were used in its making. The distillery describes velvety summer fruit pudding and bitter cherry, with a deeper edge of soot and its characteristic smoke. The nose brings peat, smoke, dark cherries and peach, then smoked meat, fireside and volcanic notes. The palate is spicy and fiery with cherries and wood smoke. The finish is dark chocolate, espresso and wood smoke.
