Ardbeg Dolce is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 47.8% in a 750ml bottle. It was matured in 'dolce' (sweet) Marsala fortified wine casks, which bring a Sicilian sweetness to Ardbeg's smoky character.
The release takes its inspiration from the slow pace of life in Sicily and the glamour of 1960s cinema, set against the windswept character of Islay.
The nose combines apricot, raisins, sticky date and orange marmalade with softened smoke. On the palate come cinnamon, star anise, honeycomb and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, with smoked applewood and peat oils.
