Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 4 is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46.2% ABV. It is the fourth release in the Traigh Bhan series and takes its name from the Singing Sands beach on Islay's south coast.
The whisky was matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks. This batch uses a higher share of former Oloroso casks than earlier releases, bringing chocolate, raisins and a pronounced menthol character.
On the nose, herbal pine and fennel lead into citrus sorbet and medicinal sweets, followed by eucalyptus and saddle soap. A splash of water brings out hazelnut, sweet vanilla and blackcurrant.
