This is a 12-year-old Ardmore single malt from the Highlands, distilled on 27 May 2013 and bottled by Best Dram on 4 November 2025 at 56.3% ABV. It is a single cask release of 165 bottles. The whisky spent its whole maturation in cask #590, a first-fill STR red wine barrique. Ardmore is one of the few Highland distilleries to use peated malt, and here the smoke sits alongside the fruit of the wine cask. It is natural colour and not chill-filtered. On the nose, earthy peat smoke comes with raspberries, strawberries and fresh pomelo. The palate is oily, with dried cherries, marzipan and honey waffles over a peaty base. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with roasted wood and lingering sweetness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
