A 13 year old Ardmore bottled by Thompson Brothers at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. It combines whisky from an Ardmore refill barrel filled in 2009 with whisky from an Ardlair refill barrel filled in 2010. Ardlair is the name used for the unpeated style made at the Ardmore distillery, set alongside its classic smoky Highland character.
Only 588 bottles were produced.
The nose brings lemon zest, brown sugar, pine needles, rhubarb and strawberry jam, with white pepper and small wafts of smoke. On the palate come tropical fruit, passion fruit and pineapple in an oily texture, with honey-cured bacon. The finish is medium to long, with ginger, tobacco and a hint of peat smoke.
