This is a 17 year old single malt from Ardmore, Release 02 of the Tri Carragh series. It was distilled on 11 January 2006 and matured in a single refill Bourbon hogshead, which gave 312 bottles. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.3%, in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose opens with light peat smoke like glowing embers, then turns sweet with vanilla, lemon, pineapple and buttery pastries. The palate is sweet and smoky, unfolding in waves, and the finish is long. Water brings the pastry notes forward.
