Ardmore – 1994-2023 28 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask (70cl, 52%)

This is a single cask Ardmore from the Highlands, distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2023 after 28 years by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. It was matured in a refill American hogshead that yielded 235 bottles, and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 52% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration and with natural colour. Ardmore is one of the Highlands' traditionally peated distilleries, and the stills were still coal fired in the 1990s. The nose has green apple, lemon zest and pineapple. On the palate, honey comes with desiccated coconut and poached pear, and the medium finish carries lingering citrus fruit and charred oak.
