This is a single cask Ardmore from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range, distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2021 at 21 years old. It comes from a refill hogshead, at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle. Ardmore is a smoky Highland malt that supplied the smoky element in Teacher's blended whisky from its beginning in 1898. This whisky was distilled before the distillery converted to steam heated stills in 2002. The nose is aromatic and round, with subtle smoke and gently peated barley. The palate is mouthcoating and unctuous, with peppery, phenolic cereals and crushed sugar. The finish is long and sweetly peaty, with a dash of oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
