Ardmore – 2008 11 Years (Great Ocean Liners) (70cl, 56%)

This is an 11 year old single cask Ardmore from the Great Ocean Liners series by independent bottler Jack Wiebers Whisky World. It was distilled in 2008, matured in an ex-Laphroaig cask, which adds a smoky touch, and bottled in 2019. It was bottled for Whisky Fair Luzern 2020 at a cask strength of 56% ABV, uncoloured and non-chill-filtered, in an outturn of 174 bottles. The nose is aromatic and full, with subtle smoke and peated barley. The palate is mouth-coating and peppery, with phenolic grain amid crushed sugar. The finish is fairly long, with clear peat smoke and oak.
