Ardmore – 2008-2022 13 Year Old Murray McDavid UK Exclusive Single Cask (70cl, 57.4%)

This is a 13-year-old Highland single malt from Ardmore, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2022 by Murray McDavid as a UK exclusive single cask. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.4%, without colouring or chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. Maturation began in a bourbon hogshead and finished in a first fill stout cask from Moor Beer. The stout cask brings bitter chocolate flavours alongside Ardmore's characteristic vegetal peat. The tasting notes describe a nose of creamy mocha, vanilla and sweet peat, a silky palate of chocolate malt with a strong peat presence, and a gently warming finish with an oily sweetness.
