This is a 9-year-old Ardmore from the 2008 vintage, bottled by Mossburn at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited, small-batch release and lightly peated.
Ardmore stands between the River Bogie and the first foothills of the Grampians, and its name means great height in Gaelic. The distillery is popular with lovers of peated whiskies.
The whisky is described as rich, oily, firm and creamy, a Highland malt that in a blind tasting could bring an Islay to mind.
