This is a 14 year old Ardmore from the Claxton's Warehouse No. 1 series. It was distilled on 21 April 2009, matured in a bourbon hogshead and bottled in autumn 2023, with 277 bottles filled.
The nose opens with buttery vanilla, intense herbs and floral notes, and a little white pepper. The palate carries far more smoke than the nose suggests, along with a touch of sponge biscuit and pleasant malt. The finish brings sweet peat, fine oak spice and a hint of vanilla.
