This Ardmore is Edition #21 in Signatory's 100 Proof series, a Highland single malt distilled in 2012 and bottled at 12 years old. It matured in second fill bourbon barrels that had previously held Laphroaig. It is bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose has mild smoke, fragrant malt and freshly baked apples with warm vanilla sauce, and later a fine oak spice. On the palate, sweet toffee and fresh apple juice meet ripe papaya and juicy kiwi, with roasted walnuts and a pleasant smoke. The finish is long and oily, with creamy vanilla, sweet smoke and toasted oak.
