This is a 22-year-old Highland single malt from Ardmore, distilled in 2003 and matured in a single bourbon barrel. Murray McDavid selected the cask for its Mission Gold series and drew 507 bottles from it at 55.1% ABV.
The colour is a warm ochre that comes from the wood, as no colouring was added.
The nose opens with citrus oil and flint, with a sweetness like boiled sweets. The palate is creamy, with salted butter and lemongrass alongside a light smoke. The finish brings tropical fruit and a hint of charcoal.
