This is a 25-year-old Ardmore, distilled in 1997 and bottled on 13 June 2023 by Elixir Distillers for The Single Malts of Scotland series. It matured in a single hogshead, number 901286, and filled 269 bottles. Ardmore was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher, and its malt is known for spice alongside a fine thread of peat smoke. The nose pairs a light veil of smoke with sweet bourbon vanilla. On the palate there is spicy fudge and delicate wood notes. The finish brings gentle smokiness and the dry structure of oak.
