This is a 47 year old Ardmore from the Highlands, distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2025 by Milroys, the London merchant established in 1964. It matured in a bourbon hogshead.
It is bottled at 47.8% ABV, unfiltered and without added colour.
The nose combines sage and dry hay with bright citrus and a hint of wood smoke. On the palate a waxy character carries spicy sage and light citrus, with subtle smoke and dried hay. The finish is long, leaving soft wood smoke, a fine herbal note and a little citrus.
