Ardmore – 9 Year Old Mossburn Vintage Casks No. 6

This is a 9 year old Ardmore single malt, number 6 in the Mossburn Vintage Casks series. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled without colouring or chill-filtering. It matured in American standard barrels that had previously held smoky whisky from Islay. Ardmore is a Highland distillery in the east, where most of the spirit is made from peated barley. The nose is lightly smoky and oily. The palate brings dark chocolate with a little coffee and a light touch of smoke. The finish is long and balanced, with notes of oak.
