Ardmore – Traditional Cask Highland Single Malt (46%)

Ardmore Traditional Cask is a lightly peated Highland single malt, bottled at 46% without chill filtration. The name refers to the small quarter casks that were the standard in the 1800s. The whisky is first matured in traditional oak casks, then moved into these smaller casks for further maturation. The nose brings honey, vanilla and fresh citrus, with burnt oak, a hint of leather and distant peat smoke. The palate is creamy and full, with peat, seaweed, vanilla and ripe fruit, and a mineral edge from the oak. The finish is long and warm, with spice and a light dryness.
