Armorik 2012 – Dervenn (2016) (70cl, 46%)

Armorik Dervenn is a Breton single malt from Distillerie Warenghem in Lannion, Brittany, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in January 2012 and bottled in April 2016, and only 1,500 bottles were released. The whisky was matured in Breton oak and bourbon casks. It is unfiltered and of natural colour. The local oak gives a slightly spicy, wood-driven profile. The nose is soft malt, vanilla, light spice, honey and fresh wood. The palate is round and elegant, malty with gentle spice, soft oak and light citrus. The finish is medium long and dry, with lingering wood notes.
