Armorik Maitre de Chai is a Breton single malt, distilled and bottled in Brittany, France, by the Warenghem distillery. It is a limited edition of 1,800 bottles.
The whisky comes from a blend of two first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The first Maitre de Chai appeared in 2014, and this is the third edition.
The nose is intense and complex, with wood, ripe fruit and spice over a fine herbal character. The palate is warming, with vanilla turning to caramelised and roasted fruit. The finish is very long, with sherry notes and an elegant feel.
