Arran – 25 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

A 25 year old single malt from Arran, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-sherry and bourbon casks, and it is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. The distillery draws its water from Loch na Davie, in the hills above, and the burn that feeds it is called Easan Biorach, meaning 'Sharp Waterfalls' in Gaelic. The nose is rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note, alongside baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. On the palate come fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon, orange zest, manuka honey, muscovado sugar and baked apricots, with a note of white pepper. The finish is spicy and citrusy, with cinnamon and dark chocolate.
