Arran – 25 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is the 25 year old Arran single malt from Lochranza Distillery, bottled at 46%. It is the distillery's oldest age statement, released each year, and this edition marks 25 years of making Arran single malt. The whisky was matured in ex-sherry and bourbon casks, and is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring. The nose is rich oak with gentle nutmeg, baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. On the palate come fruit cake, toasted almonds, cinnamon, orange and mandarin, manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and white pepper. The finish is creamy and spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruit compote.
