Arran – Barley 10 Year Old Batch 002 (50%)

The second batch of Arran Barley, a 10 year old single malt made with barley grown on Bellevue Farm at the southern end of the Isle of Arran by the Currie family. Batch 002 uses Concerto barley in place of the Optic used in the first. It matured in first fill bourbon barrels and is bottled at 50% vol, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The batch runs to 18,000 bottles. Tasting notes mention fresh herbs, light citrus, soft vanilla and a hint of aniseed, followed by ginger biscuits on the palate, with an oily texture that adds depth to the fruit.
