Arran – Barrel Bonfire Signature Series Edition No 2 (70cl, 50%)

Arran Barrel Bonfire is the second of four releases in the Arran Signature Series, a limited single malt in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is peated to 42 ppm. The whisky was filled into bourbon casks in 2012 and matured there for almost five and a half years. In September 2018 it moved into 115-litre Koval quarter casks, made for a small Chicago distillery that uses them to mature bourbon. It spent the rest of its maturation there. The nose offers smoky caramelised hazelnuts, orange peel and vanilla with a hint of bonfire smoke. The palate is rich and oily, with cinnamon, citrus and sweet vanilla, and the finish is long and spicy with citrus and peaty smoke.
