Arran Local Barley 10 Year Old is a single malt bottled at 50% as Batch 001, with 18,000 bottles in the release. It is a limited edition distilled from malted barley grown on Bellevue Farm on the Isle of Arran by the Currie family.
The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill sherry hogsheads, in proportions very similar to those of the classic Arran 10 Year Old.
The nose offers fresh herbs, light citrus, vanilla and aniseed. The palate is spicy and biscuity, with ginger, oak, vanilla and citrus over an oily texture. The finish is medium and dry, with citrus and ginger and aniseed lingering.
