Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength (70cl, 56.2%)

Machrie Moor Cask Strength is a peated single malt from Arran, made at the Lochranza distillery and bottled by Isle of Arran Distillers at 56.2%. It joins the fruity Lochranza style to peat smoke, the malt being peated to 20ppm. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The name refers to Machrie Moor on the west of the island, where stone circles date from the Bronze Age. Citrus leads the nose, with peat in the background and a hint of smoke. Orchard fruit, toasted brioche and red berries mark the palate. The finish is strong and lasting, with vanilla and smoke.
