Arran – Machrie Moor Cask Strength (70cl, 56.2%)

Machrie Moor Cask Strength is a peated single malt from the Arran distillery, bottled at 56.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled at cask strength, and the notes suggest adding a few drops of water to bring out the fruit alongside the peat smoke. The nose is strong with wood smoke, peat and fresh pineapple, followed by delicate pear and lime. On the palate the fruit sits with peat smoke. The finish is lasting, with toasted bourbon cask and vanilla notes and a hint of the sea.
