Arran – Quarter Cask (70cl, 56.2%)

This is a cask strength single malt from Arran, bottled at 56.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The whisky spent seven years in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels before moving into 125 litre Quarter casks of American oak for two more years. The smaller casks bring the spirit into closer contact with the wood, which gives a faster, more intense maturation. The nose offers apple tart and pineapple brioche. On the palate come citrus, cinnamon and vanilla, and the finish carries sweetness, honey, pineapple, vanilla and coconut.
