Arran – Quarter Cask The Bothy (56.2%)

Arran Quarter Cask The Bothy is a single malt from the Isle of Arran distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 56.2%. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. A bothy is a small hut, now often used as shelter by hill walkers and once used as lodging for farm workers. The whisky spends 7 years in ex-bourbon casks, then a further two years in smaller quarter casks. The nose offers lemon peel, candyfloss and a hint of cocoa. On the palate come fresh tropical notes of pineapple, green apples and vanilla, with a light touch of chilli warmth. The finish is aromatic and fruity, with sweetness supported by spicy oak.
