Arran Sherry Cask - The Bodega (70cl, 55.8%)

The Bodega is an Arran single malt matured entirely in sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, 55.8%, in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The bottling recalls the early, strongly sherried Arran whiskies. The casks are chosen from sherry bodegas in Jerez, Spain, and the whisky is an official Arran bottling made at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. Its sherry influence brings dark fruit, sweet spice, roasted nuts and oak. The nose combines chocolate raisins and mandarin with a touch of spice. The palate is dense, with warm ripe figs and sweet cherries. The finish is long and powerful, with pink pepper, hazelnut and toasted oak.
