Arran Signature Edition 2 'Barrel Bonfire' is an 11-year-old peated single malt at 42ppm, chosen by distillery manager Stewart Bowman for the second release in the Signature Series. It spent its first five and a half years in ex-bourbon casks. In September 2018 it moved for a further five and a half years into 115-litre quarter casks from the Koval distillery in Chicago, which were used only for this edition. There are 14,822 bottles worldwide.
The nose offers caramel-coated hazelnuts, orange peel, plenty of vanilla and dry smoke. The palate is oily and complex, with cinnamon and citrus, vanilla and roasted oak. The finish is long and sweet, with vanilla, peat and dry bonfire smoke.
